WP Deployment 2.8.13
More Design Options
Pale gold, outlines, shadows, oh my! Deployment version 2.8.9 was released today, and it brings several new design styles to the dashboard.
Backgrounds, etc: Columns, groups, and the media + text blocks now have four new background designs to choose from. Mix and match styles to add visual interest and variety to your pages.
Buttons: In addition to gold and gray buttons, we now offer buttons outlined in black and white, as well as a “link with arrow.” These options are located in the button block’s style tab.
Introduction Paragraph: Begin articles or heavy-worded pages with larger intro text. This new paragraph style allows readers to digest important information before diving into the nitty gritty.
Media + Text Block: We have added a “padding picker” in the style tab to add further flexibility with this awesome block. Read more about this often overlooked block.
Heading: For the heading block we’ve added a bold new decorative style option called the Heavy Gold Underline. Use this when you’d like to add some flair to your usual headings.
Where can you find the styles?
These new design options are located in the “style tab” for each block. Start exploring and experimenting; we can’t wait to see what you come up with!
The Design Guide
Designing a website can be frustrating and time consuming. Our team is rounding up our best tips and tricks so you can build your website beautifully, quickly, and with confidence.
We’ve added a display showcasing the latest styles, and we will continue to build templates and guidelines that help our UA community succeed on the web. Happy designing!
Cleaner Links
If you’ve shared PDFs or images from the website, the URL might have looked a little something like this:
prod.wp.cdn.aws.wfu.edu/sites/233/2023/10/mycoolpdf.pdf
Messy and confusing URLs are not ideal, so in this deployment we’ve added a new field to the media library called Assets URL. It presents a cleaner link that can be used for sharing and linking.
A big thank you to the IS team who helped us make this possible!
And lastly…
- We fixed a bug that prevented site admins from correctly adding users.
- We added a welcome email for new users.
- We updated several plugins .
As always, thank you for being a part of our WordPress community.
