Our WordPress Deployment focused on refinements to the Gutenberg News Theme and plugin updates, including nearly all of the Gravity Forms Add-ons. We don’t anticipate any issues, but please use the Web Request Form to reach out to us with questions or concerns.

Website Service Level Agreement (SLA)

We recently added our Service Level Agreement (SLA) to the WordPress Guide, making it easier to read and review. This SLA outlines our commitments to the performance, availability, and support of our services, ensuring that you have a clear understanding of the standards you can expect from us and of your responsibilities as a user of those services. The SLA has recently been revised to update our third-party plugin policies and procedures.

We encourage you to review the SLA to familiarize yourself with the details.

Building an Accessible Web: Tips & Reminders

An advanced option for WordPress links is the ability to open those links in a new tab (or window). While this is core functionality that WordPress provides, by default, those links do not meet WCAG Guidelines. As WordPress editors, it’s up to you to ensure that users are aware when a link will open in a new tab or window. This can be done by:

  • Adding Descriptive Text: Include a note in the link text, such as “opens in a new window,” to inform users of what to expect.
  • Using Icons: In a future deployment, we plan on incorporating an icon next to external links with a corresponding aria label for screen readers, indicating that the link opens in a new tab.
  • Consistency: Be consistent in how you implement this across the site to avoid confusing users.

Remember, providing clear instructions helps users navigate your site more effectively and prevents disorientation, particularly for those using assistive technologies. By making this small adjustment, you contribute to a more accessible and user-friendly website.
