WP Deployment 2.8.4
With the new school year fast approaching, much of our programming efforts have been spent supporting our departments with their last-minute needs, but we still managed some goodies in today’s deployment. Drum roll, please…
🎉 Introducing Our Brand New Homepage Design and Gutenberg-Powered Theme! 🎉
If you’ve visited wfu.edu recently, you probably noticed some big changes. Our brand new homepage isn’t just a fresh new look for WFU; it’s the end of an era. In this redesign we bid a fond farewell to the legacy Homepage theme with its aging custom page builder and said hello to Gutenberg – WordPress’s built-in powerful, versatile and intuitive editor. The homepage wasn’t the only site to receive an upgrade. Our friends over at the School of Divinity finished their move to Gutenberg as well. This means we were able to retire our legacy Homepage and Divinity themes. Fewer themes to support means more time to build new features, so we’re very excited about that.
Tweak Behind the Scenes
This deployment also includes the usual plugin updates, bug fixes, and dashboard fixes to help keep things safe, secure and running more smoothly.
So there you have it! We hope you’re as thrilled as we are about these changes. Until next time, happy browsing!
