WP 2.11.8 Deployment – Small Text & Thick Lines
Our latest WordPress deployment includes plenty of behind-the-scenes improvements, along with a few useful enhancements to your WordPress editing experience. Discover Small Text, A new separator, and a reminder about other available typographical featured like Drop Cap.
Note: Check out our new small text style and thick line separator!
Small Text Style: Have you ever needed a more subtle way to present disclaimers or fine print? The Paragraph block now includes a “Small” style, letting you size text down for added emphasis. Just remember, not all text should be tiny! For readability, keep body copy at a comfortable size. Check out our guide to learn more, and while you’re there, see if you can spot the ever-popular Drop Cap toggle for your next story!
Thick Line Separator: Need a stronger visual break in your content? The Separator block now includes a “Thick” style, making it easy to create bold, eye-catching dividers on your pages. See this new style in our guide!
New Brand Guide: Whether you’re designing a webpage, creating event materials, or collaborating on digital and print projects, consistency is key! Wake Forest’s newly launched Brand Guide provides essential guidelines on logos, colors, typography, and more. Since many of our WordPress admins also wear marketing hats, this resource can help ensure your department’s materials align with the university’s overall brand.
Faster Site Loading: To help your site load even faster, images and files in your Media Library are served through our CDN (content delivery network). With this week’s deployment, we are also serving static assets in our themes from our CDN. This means quicker load times and smoother performance for your visitors, no extra effort needed on your part!
As always, feel free to reach out using the Digital Request Form if you have any questions.
