The announcements block allows you to add your own custom announcements to your site. It also allows you to set what time announcements are visible and removed to your website visitors.

Block Settings

Announcement block settings.

Heading Level: Select the heading number that follows the structure of your page content. Use proper nesting and do not skip levels. The default level is H2.

Block Title: The block title will add a title to the top of the announcements block, at the level you choose above. You can name this whatever you would like.

Announcements: Not all announcements will be added to your block automatically. If you want to include an announcement in your block, click the “Add an announcement” button and choose the announcement from the drop-down menu. A block can hold up to five announcements.

See All and the Announcements Archive

When the block has at least one announcement showing, it displays a See All button linking to the announcements archive at /upcoming-announcements/. The button is hidden when the block has nothing to show.

That archive lists every announcement on your site that is currently within its publish and removal dates, not only the ones you selected in this block. An announcement you never added to a block is still reachable there once its publish date arrives.

Adding an Announcement

Before an announcement can be added to the block, it must first be added as a custom post type on the back-end of the website. You can find the Announcements custom post type on the left sidebar of the back-end of your site.

Simply click on “Announcements” and then “Add New Announcement
