A cookie notice is coming to Wake Forest WordPress sites
Starting Wednesday, Aug. 26, a cookie notice will appear at the bottom of every page across the Wake Forest WordPress network, including your site.
You do not need to do anything. It is switched on centrally and automatically works on every site.
What visitors will see: A bar at the bottom of the page stating that the site uses cookies, with a link to the Wake Forest Privacy Statement and an “I Accept” button. Clicking it hides the bar.
Once a visitor accepts, it remains hidden for a year and applies across the entire network. Someone who accepts on one Wake Forest site will not see it again on yours.
Why now? This comes from University Compliance as part of a wider set of privacy updates, alongside the new privacy site. It clearly tells visitors that our sites use cookies and directs them to the statement explaining what we collect.
The notice has been reviewed for accessibility and tested across the network, including on sites with unusual layouts.
As always, if you have questions or or issues, please let us know through the Web Request Form.
