WP 3.1.0 Deployment – Google Search Everywhere

In addition to bug fixes and plugin updates, today’s deployment includes a behind-the-scenes upgrade that improves search across all WordPress subsites.

Google Search for All

Until now, Google-powered search was only available in the global header. With this update, Google Custom Search is now active on every site in our WordPress environment.

This change means site visitors will enjoy faster, more accurate results whenever they search your site. If you haven’t already added a Search Block to your site, it’s easy to do, and all your published posts and pages become searchable on your site. And if you’re already using it, you don’t need to make any changes, the upgrade is already in place.

Help Us Clean Up GoLinks

We’re doing a little GoLinks housekeeping and would appreciate your help. If you own GoLinks, please take a moment to review and delete any links you no longer use.

How to delete your links:

• Login to GoLinks with your WFU credentials
• Click the My Links tab where you can review, edit or delete your current GoLinks
• Click the Delete GoLink link on any links you no longer need.

This should only take a few minutes, and it would go a long way in helping us maintain a healthy and secure GoLinks system.
